Senior Software Engineer

Description of duties:
  • Design software architecture for WiMax system, OS based real-time software written in C/C++ languages for wireless communication protocol such as Media Access Control (MAC).
  • Develop system architecture for mobile WiMax handset, IP network applications for evaluating SOC chipset; and efficient SoC-Host interface algorithm such as SDIO, PCMCIA and USB for broadband wireless modem chipsets.
  • Analyze system requirements and develop message transferring in MAC layer and make contribution to standard group for the message flow.
  • Make verification for our chipset with other Base station through IOT (Inter Operability Test) and RCT (Radio Conformance Test).
  • Implement driver for the other Host system such as PDA, Laptop and PC etc...
  • Evaluate and analyze the network performance of the wireless devices; consult software engineers and other engineering staffs to determine the software specifications and interface requirements.
  • Engage in standardization process for broadband wireless communication systems; provide technical support to strategic partners of Amicus to mitigate problems in deploying the communications systems developed by Amicus.

RF/wireless design and test engineer

Job Description:
  • Specify and supervise the development of reference design printed circuit boards for a variety of wireless networking applications.
  • Specify, design and implement end-of-line production test fixtures for these devices.
  • Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team or algorithm, ASIC and software engineers to validate your design for high-volume production.
  • Automate laboratory test cases for regression testing.

    We are looking for a strong RF engineer who has a proven track record designing highly reliable,
    high performance, easy to manufacture, low-cost RF for very high volume wireless networking consumer applications.
    Direct experience with WiMAX or WLAN 802.16-e/d or 802.11a/b/g is a big plus.
    Likewise, experience with off-shore manufacturing is another big plus.
    Experience with behavioral simulation using Matlab and digital signal processing is highly desirable but not required.

Requirements:
  • BSEE or equivalent with 5 years experience.
  • Hands-on experience with system bring-up.
  • Experience with RF circuit design to 3GHz, PA design, LNA design, DC-DC converter design, power controller design.

RF/wireless Engineering Technician

Job Description:
  • Support the development, build and test of engineering prototype boards, test boards and reference design boards.
  • Support transition of boards to ODM.
  • Help develop and manage lab test procedures.
  • Maintain the lab, test equipment and materials as needed.


Requirements:
  • An AS degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 -10 years experience in engineering lab environment.
  • Experience bringing up 3GHz wireless technology boards having D/A, A/D, PA’s, LNA’s, DC-DC converter and digital circuitry.
  • Experience with lab equipment: spectrum analyzers, signal generators, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.

Software Engineer

Director, Technical Marketing/Applications Engineering

Education:
  • BSEE (required), MSEE (strongly preferred).

Responsibilities:

    You will support customer engagements from initial customer contact, through design, field test on to pilot production.
    The successful candidate is energetic, a great communicator and a confident technologist.
    He/she will be able to lead from the front with the ability and the desire to be involved hands-on in an entrepreneurial start-up environment.

Experience and skill set:
  • Minimum 8 years in a technical marketing or field support role for sales organization for a wireless chip company.
  • Experience in building local applications engineering teams in Asia would be a big plus.
  • Experience with WiMAX is strongly desired. Participation in user groups such as IEEE 802.16 or WiMAX forum a big plus.
  • Relevant recent experience with wireless technologies such as WiMAX, WiFi, CDMA, EVDO or HSDPA.
  • Familiar with PHY-level basic wireless systems concepts such as OFDMA, MIMO, SISO, beam-forming.
  • Familiar with basic MAC functions such as network entry, registration, hand-off and mobility.
  • Familiar with driver and application layer functions such as security, host interface drivers, TCP/IP, SNMP for both Linux and Windows.
  • Successful track record bringing hardware reference designs for OEM and ODM customers into production.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. Comfortable and credible preparing and presenting technical presentations to a technical and business audience.
  • Be able to conceive of technology demos and be able to implement and deliver them.
  • Be able to produce and/or manage the production of technical documentation.
  • Respond to RFIs and RFPs.
  • Provide customer training for Amicus hardware and software products.
  • Travel to customer sites for presentations and support (30% average, peak travel could be 50%).

  • Account managements from pre-sales stage till(after) product launch.
  • Manage and tracking development issues and field issues from design-in through design-win.
  • Program management per project per account for successful business results.
  • Setup goals per period (month or quarter) with manager that should be challenging design-in/win activities
  • Coordinate field issues with internal (engineering) customers, IOT Group / SW Group / Engineering Group from HQ

Wireless Standards Engineer / Sr. Wireless Standards Engineer

Description of duties:
    A successful candidate, first of all, should be a great communicator (both in written and verbal) and confident technologist who can partner with other members of Amicus' R&D organization throughout the course of a product development cycle. The candidate should be a proficient problem solver having genuine interests in carrying out technical investigations, prototyping ideas, evaluating performance/functionalities, and performing formal proceedings in wireless standard bodies. Ideally, he/she should be able to provide technical advice and guidance internally that are necessary to complete an Amicus product acceptable by its customers or an Amicus technology to facilitate its adoption by external organizations, based on thorough examination and understanding complex requirements demanded by wireless standards.

Additional responsibilities anticipated are:
  • Provide internal management to more than one standards development projects capable of technical contributions to internationally recognized standard bodies.
  • Interpret, analyze, and convert abstract standards and requirements into detailed and feasible product specifications.
  • Carry out product certification-related duties.
  • Support business development and marketing activities with respect to standards-related issues.
  • Provide technical support to Amicus' existing/potential customers and strategic partners to mitigate problems in deploying Amicus products and technologies.

Qualifications:
  • MS with 5+ years of technical experience or PhD in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science with focus on wireless communications, mobile networks, and systems.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge, experience, and concentration in OFDM, MIMO, and other state-of-the-art wireless technologies is a strong plus.
  • Experience in participating wireless standards activities and technical proceedings such as IEEE 802.11/16, WiMAX Forum, and 3GPP highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing wireless modems and/or communication protocols will be highly valued.
  • Solid presentation and documentation abilities.
  • Comfortable traveling worldwide and US cities to participate standards meetings.
