Alan Norman
President & CEO

Alan Norman is President and CEO of Amicus Wireless Technologies, an innovative baseband and SoC provider for Mobile WiMAX. Previously he was EVP Delivery for ArrayComm and was responsible for ArrayComm's business development, marketing, and area operations worldwide. He has more than 15 years of wireless and telecommunications industry knowledge and 25 years of experience in corporate development, international expansion and intellectual property licensing. Prior to joining ArrayComm, Alan served as Vice President of Corporate Development at Internap Network Services, Inc., where he led strategic development and partnering activities and directed the company's international expansion in Japan and Europe. He also served as Vice President and General Manager of New Business Development at Etak, a subsidiary of Sony Corporation and News Corporation, where he developed their wireless cellular and paging strategy targeting automotive and consumer electronics companies in the U.S., Europe and Japan. He holds an M.S. in Business and B.S. in Mathematical Sciences from Stanford University.

Dr. Won-Joon Choi
CTO

Dr. Won-Joon Choi has over a decade of experience in wireless communication systems, especially in the area of multiple antenna systems such as MIMO and Beamforming, multi-carrier systems such as OFDM and DMT, and iterative receivers such as Turbo decoders and Turbo equalizers. Prior to Amicus Wireless Technology, he was a PHY architect at Atheros communications, where he worked on system architecture and algorithm developments for several generations of Wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11) chipsets including extended range(XR) mode, multi-antenna transceiver incorporating transmit/receive beamforming, and spatial-multiplexing MIMO-OFDM. As a PHY representative from Atheros in IEEE and TGnSync alliance, he has made numerous contributions to the new WLAN standard, IEEE 802.11n. Earlier in his career, he was a research scientist at Korea Institute of Science and Technology, where he developed an innovative high-precision motion controller system, which was commercialized into production later in a start-up company.

Dr. Choi received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, where he conducted intensive research on space-time processing for wireless communications including space-time coding, BLAST, iterative receivers, MIMO-OFDM, etc. He has 20 patents issued or pending, many standards contributions, and several journal and conference publications. He holds Ph.D. and M.S. from Stanford University, and B.S. from Seoul National University.

Sunil M. Sanghavi
SVP, Sales and Marketing.

Sunil is responsible for defining and executing Amicus's sales and marketing strategy. Previously, he was SVP Marketing at Arraycomm, in charge of operator marketing, developing product strategy, and overseeing standards group participation. Prior to joining ArrayComm, Sunil was the founding CEO of a wireless communications company that developed smart antenna-based WiMAX/WiFi/DVB semiconductors. Previously, he was CEO of TriMedia, a Philips/Sony company that developed and marketed IP for the consumer electronics market. Sunil has held executive leadership positions in 4 other Silicon Valley startups since 1990. Prior to that he spent over 12 years at Intel and National Semiconductor, in both product management and strategic marketing roles. Sunil has a BSEE from Cal Poly and previously studied at IIT Bombay.

    Yongwon Kwon
    President & CEO, Kiwoom Investments

    YongWon Kwon is CEO of Kiwoom Investment, a venture capital company. Prior to Kiwoom, he was Senior Executive Vice President of Daou Technologies, and was also CEO of Incube Technologies, one of Daou subsidiaries. Before starting his career in the commercial sector in 2000, he held various manager positions at Korea Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy. As a government official, one of his major contributions was to create a new venture policy that significanly fostered Korean IT venture start-up industries in late 90s. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronics Engineering from Seoul National University, and a M.S. degree from MIT.

    Dr. Joon Chung
    President & CEO, Solid Technologies, inc.

    Joon Chung founded Solid Technologies Inc. in November 1998, and is Chairman of the board, CEO of the company since then. Solid Tech has become a leading provider of repeater systems for various wireless communication /broadcasting networks including CDMA, WCDMA, WiBro (mobile WiMax), and satellite digital multimedia broadcasting networks, and is listed in KOSDAQ market. Prior to Solid Technologies, he was a senior member of technical staff at KT (formerly Korea Telecom), leading research on optical communication technologies. From 1993 to 1994, he worked as a visiting researcher at Hitachi Central Research Laboratories in Tokyo, sponsored by the Hitachi Fellowship Program. During his research career, he published numerous technical papers, and co-authored a textbook on optical technologies. In 2003, he was named as one of 40 technology pioneers, and in 2004, he was elected as a founding member of New Asian Leaders both by World Economic Forum (Davos Forum). In 2001, he was the recipient of both the Venture Entrepreneur of the Month Award by the Small & Medium Business Administration of Korea (SMBA), and the Venture Leaders Award by the Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Energy (MOCIE). He currently is on the Board of Directors of Neowave (listed in KOSDAQ market) and Telcoware (listed in Korean Stock Exchange(KSE) market), and also serves as Vice Chair on the board of Korea Radio Promotion Association, a subsidiary of Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC). Joon Chung holds a B.S. degree, summa cum laude, in Electronics Engineering from Seoul National University, and both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

    Dr. Seung-Hee Lee
    CEO, Solid Technologies, inc.

    Seung Hee Lee is President, CEO of Solid Technologies. He also holds Board Member positions for two KOSDAQ companies, Neotis and Solid Technologies. Prior to Solid Technologies, he was with Samsung Electronics and Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology where he conducted research on fiber optic amplifiers and led research on long distance WDM systems. He holds a B.S. in Electronics Engineering from Korea University and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University.

    Dr. John M. Cioffi received his B.S.E.E. degree in 1978 from University of Illinois and he received his Ph.D.E.E. degree in 1984 from Stanford University. He was with Bell Laboratories from 1978 to 1984 and with IBM Research from 1984 to 1986. He has been a Professor of electrical engineering at Stanford University since 1986. He founded Amati Com. Corp. in 1991 (purchased by TI in 1997) and was Officer/Director from 1991 to 1997. His specific interests are in the area of high-performance digital transmission. He is the holder of Hitachi America Professorship in Electrical Engineering at Stanford (2002); he is a Member of the National Academy of Engineering (2001); IEEE Kobayashi Medal (2001); IEEE Millennium Medal (2000); IEEE Fellow (1996); IEE J.J. Tomson Medal (2000); 1999 University of Illinois Outstanding Alumnus, 1991 IEEE Communications Magazine Best Paper; 1995 ANSI T1 Outstanding Achievement Award; NSF Presidential Investigator (1987-1992), ISSLS 2004 Outstanding Paper Award. He has published over 250 papers and holds over 40 patents.
